Superfood - Barley

Barley is a very nutritious grain, containing more nutrients than rice.
The health benefits of barley are related to its cholesterol-lowering effect. A variety of studies have demonstrated the benefit of a regular intake of barley products are associated with managing diabetes, decreasing cholesterol and improving bowel health.
Some evidence suggests that barley improves blood sugar levels in individuals with diabetes, possibly because of the fibre. Studies have shown that individuals with barley in their diet experienced reductions in their total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL - the “bad cholesterol) and/or triglyceride levels.
