What ‘natural’ means to Go Natural

At Go Natural we define ‘natural’ as being Whole Foods that are presented to you as close to their natural state as possible.

Sugar -Go Natural Snack Bars have 50% less sugar than popular confectionery bars. Fruit contributes a third of the sugar and the rest is naturally present in honey, glucose and the nuts. Go Natural uses no artificial sweeteners – just lots of Australian honey.

Fats - Go Natural snack bars on average have 70% less saturated fat than popular confectionery bars. Most of the Go Natural range has less than 3g of saturated fat – in some cases 85% of the total fat is good fat. Our bodies need a balance of fats, much of the total fat is naturally found in nuts and seeds.

High Fibre – Low Sodium - The Go Natural range has at least 10% RDI fibre. Chocolate bars have little or no dietary fibre. Virtually the entire Go Natural range is low in sodium. In fact they contain 70% less sodium than popular chocolate bars.

Vitamins & Minerals - Go Natural snack bars taste great and are full of vitamins and minerals. Confectionery bars have little nutritional value. These essential vitamins and minerals are naturally present in Go Natural snack bars– just the way your body likes them – Nothing added!

Natural is healthy - Go Natural defines “Natural” as being a food product that has undergone minimal processing and contains no additives or preservatives. Go Natural uses minimally processed whole foods in our products. Because of this Go Natural products are inherently good for you. The new Superfood range is extremely high in whole grains and fibre and is another example of a “Natural” product that has been minimally processed.

Contains more fat than a cheeseburger? - One cheeseburger contains 44% saturated fats which is on average 2 to 6 times more saturated fat than in any Go Natural product. A cheeseburger contains 104 times more sodium than a Go Natural Nut Delight bar. All Go Natural products contain a substantial percentage (3-13%) of the recommended Daily intake of fibre. Unlike a standard Cheeseburger, Go Natural products contain a wide variety of vitamins and minerals.

Contains more sugar than a Mars Bar? - One 60g Mars Bar contains 36.7g of sugar. This is 2-6 times more sugar than any go Natural product. All sugar in Go Natural Bars are 100% natural – there is NO added sugar. One Mars Bar contains41% of the recommended daily intake of sugar. Go Natural Bars that are uncoated contain no more than 22% of the recommended daily percentage and the range of Go Natural coated “indulgent” bars contain no more than 38% of the recommended daily intake of sugar.

Contains more carbohydrates than a cheeseburger/Mars Bar? - Carbohydrates from Go Natural products come from a range of nuts and seeds and are a ‘good source of complex carbohydrates’. This means they are digested and absorbed slower by the body making you feel full for longer, preventing snacking. One 60g Mars Bar contains 2-6 times more carbohydrates– and most of these are simple carbohydrates which will elevate blood sugar levels quickly and leave you feeling flat and hungry soon after. One cheeseburger contains 1-3 times more carbohydrates than any Go Natural product. Again these are mostly simple carbohydrates and provide little nutrition.

Whole Foods = Natural foods - Whole Foods are considered to be food and ingredients that have undergone minimal processes and are presented to market in as close to their natural state as possible with few additives. Over processing removes a lot of the nutrients. Whole foods do not contain added fats, sugar, salt, preservatives or colours and are high in fibre. High fibre diets prevent a range of digestive diseases and can prevent over eating as they have a low glycemic index. ‘Natural’ is not a meaningless claim, it is an important distinction of quality.

Gluten Free - The Go Natural Fruit and Nut Bar range are gluten free – not taste free. The Go Natural emphasis is on taste, therefore higher quality ingredients are used.
